About
Darpan Atelier
Darpan Atelier carries forward the legacy of a photographic studio founded by the artist’s father in India. The name Darpan, meaning mirror, reflects a lineage of image-making rooted in observation, memory, and lived experience, while extending that lineage into contemporary art and digital media.
Operating as both studio and publishing entity, Darpan Atelier supports a practice in which personal history, traditional visual sensibilities, and contemporary methodologies intersect. Each work is produced as a deliberate artifact: shaped by vulnerability, resilience, and sustained inquiry, rather than expression for its own sake.
Within the Atelier, materials, light, and digital processes function as tools of translation. Experience is distilled into form; memory becomes structure. The Atelier exists as a living practice, committed to continuity, experimentation, and the disciplined transformation of experience into enduring works.
